Make Brothels Legal in the UK.

Nurses are calling for the legalising of brothels in the UK. At the annual conference in Harrogate delegates of the RNC explain why brothels should be made legal. In our developing society prostitution has travelled with us and surprisingly it still has a stigma attached to it. It is time that the government treated prostitution and brothels as industries rather than looking down on them a call from many quarters to legalise brothels.
In every town in the UK you will find a brothel if you know where to look but they still are illegal so these girls are owned by pimps and drug addicts. The facts show that money is still being paid for the prostitutes so it is not a declining business but it needs to be brought into the light of the 21st century. Nurses say that brothels should be legalised, so that the prostitutes that work in them visit health centres regularly.
Not so long ago we had alarming news on the TV about prostitutes being preyed upon and murdered in Ipswich. This leads me to think that many people still live in a prehistoric times, If the attitudes of government a changed and made a stand for legalising brothels maybe this sort of crime against these girls would not of happened.
Legalising brothels would also give these girls a place to work, that is open view with the law and other groups like NHS, we live in a time when sex and disease are linked it would help to eliminate worries knowing that free condoms were issued to sex workers, of course they should be already using them but in tight times shortcuts are often taken.
Once the legalisation of brothels comes in to effect then the system changes, instead of being arrested for curb crawling as is the way at the moment men can book an appointment with his lady and have a professional hour or three with a legal registered prostitute without having to look over his shoulder. This would definitely make it safer for working girls, as it is in other countries that have already made it legal to have paid sex in a brothel.
The government needs to take a fresh look at brothels and how societies that have them exist. Then maybe the drug issues involved in prostitution may be reduced.
